ON Press: Prints for Non-Profits

On Press: Prints for Non-Profits is a Signal-Return project designed to engage multiple communities at the group’s printing studio: artists, printers, non-profits, and customers with an interest in art and in Detroit. Signal-Return invited a group of local artists to each make a letterpress poster from hand-carved linoleum blocks, the sale of which would benefit a local service-based non-profit of their choosing. Artists were given an honorarium and a portion of print sales are donated to the selected non-profit.

Signal-Return is a Detroit nonprofit letterpress studio dedicated to preserving and advancing the craft of letterpress printing. Through workshops, exhibitions, and collaborative projects, Signal-Return connects artists and audiences in a shared exploration of design, communication, and community.
